Packing

I love space bags. Thanks to the brilliant technology of one-way valves, I managed to fit a bed-full of clothing into a single backpack. Tomorrow afternoon, around 5:25, I'll be on an Air Berlin flight to, well, Berlin.

The first leg of this trip is wonderfully ill-planned. To be sure, I have done my research as to where I want to go, what I need to do to stay safe, and I have to be in Istanbul by February 6. But not much more is planned. And that's the way I want it to be.

I'll be meeting a friend from school, Judson, in Berlin. He'll be with me for about two weeks before he heads home and I head to Vilnius. In Lithuania, I'll be meeting up with a friend from abroad, Jonas, who'll be joining me from Copenhagen. We'll be going from Vilnius to Minsk, then Kiev, and Odessa. From Odessa, the plan right now is to take a boat to Istanbul. If we don't do that, it's simply because something better came up. Like I said... ill-planned.

For those of you who care, I will be keeping a personal account of my experiences whilst abroad. I hope to update it daily while I am moving daily, on my way to Istanbul. I will probably let this thing slide a bit when I get to Istanbul and start school, but occasional updates will happen. If I go anywhere from there, I'll try to keep this updated on all of that, too.

To anyone reading this -- This is a record for me, not you. I'm happy for you to read this, but in the end it's for the benefit of my memory. I hope you enjoy this little foray into my mind.

Here's to meandering the world.
